DJ Plead — Please

Please is the standout of this group of releases: an atmospheric, carefully realised album whose light touch and satisfying sequence make a lasting impression.

DJ Plead's ten-track Please, released through Smalltown Supersound on 26 June 2026, is a fine album. Its production, mixing and mastering serve the material well, giving the whole a finished, coherent character. The individual pieces are concise, but the album feels fully developed.

pa700 is a particularly persuasive example. Light percussion and lush guitar licks make for a smooth, atmospheric journey. At four and a half minutes it is hardly an extended piece, even if it is the longest here; the music fills that space comfortably and gives no reason to wish it shorter.

The shorter forms work within the overall sequence. Seven Eight, Too Late and Unforced Error sit among pieces with a little more room, yet the differences in length do not disturb the album's coherence. From Return to Deuce onwards, the sense of a connected work remains strong.

Traffic provides a very satisfying outro. It gives the album a convincing conclusion and strengthens the impression left by what precedes it. Please earns its distinction through the quality of its arrangements and the care of its execution, with pa700's easy flow offering a particularly clear point of entry.
